Art Information
Instructions concerning layout, colors, size, position
of art, typestyle, submission and return of customer
artwork should be clearly stated on the purchase order.
Thermo-Serv will keep customer artwork on file for
up to two years. Re-orders exceeding the two-year
period will be subject to new charges. Thermo-Serv
produced artwork; screens and plates are the exclusive
property of Thermo-Serv, Ltd.
CAMERA READY ARTWORK
- Customer supplies clear, sharp, solid black and
white imagery that needs no further preparation or
touch-up. We reserve the right to determine if art
is camera-ready. When supplying computer-generated
artwork, please print with at least 1000 DPI. Artwork
at lower resolution produces jagged edges that require
touch-up art charges. A fax, letterhead or photocopy
is not camera-ready artwork. Thermo-Serv reserves
the right to decline any order where the artwork is
determined to be unsuitable.
SCREEN PRINTED PRODUCTS
- For products ordered with multi-colored imprints,
a registration tolerance of plus or minus 1/32"
lateral movement may occur for a total of 1/16".
This tolerance meets industry standards and must be
considered acceptable.
DIGITAL 4CP INSERT
- Artwork for products with paper inserts, designated
by the letter P following an item number, will need
to be curved. PMS color matches and metallic colors
cannot be guaranteed with digital printing. When preparing
artwork for digital printing, keep all important copy
and graphics at least 1/8" away from die cut
edge. It is difficult to match patterns, wraps and
lines across seams due to inherent limitations in
the printing and die-cutting processes. Thermo-Serv
will curve artwork at no additional charge. Templates
are listed below and can be downloaded. Artwork for
inserts should be vector (line art) or Raster (image
file) 300 dpi minimum and CMYK format limited to 4
colors. Raster artwork for paper inserts will need
to be manually manipulated and will incur an art charge.
DISK ART INFORMATION
- To expedite your order, artwork may be sent on a
3.5" diskette, JAZ or ZIP disk, CD-ROM or hard
copy. If your art was created on a PC, save your files
in a format that can be opened on the Macintosh. All
typefaces must be outlined. A composite laser proof
must accompany disk with purchase order. This assures
us that there are no missing elements on your disk.
ELECTRONICALLY TRANSFERRED
ART - Before faxing your purchase
order, make sure to note your intent to transfer artwork
electronically. In order to speed the transfer; graphic
files, screen and printer fonts and text files should
be put in one folder. Title the folder with distributor
name: purchase order number and imprint name. Artwork
sent via email should be sent using some type of compression
software to prevent file corruption. Acceptable compression
programs include Aladdin Stuffit (.sit and .sea) for
Macintosh and PC ZIP (.zip) for PC or Macintosh. Files
can be sent eletronically to:
